107 (Aberdeen) Squadron Flight Simulator
(8th March 2008)

The latest squadron project, led by CI Sinclair, is the construction of a Flight Simulator.  This will enable cadets to learn the principles of flight which form part of their Classification exams and will consolidate actual flying and gliding experience gained with the squadron.

The equipment comprises Saitek Pro Flight Control System and Rudder Pedals, a high spec PC, LCD monitor to display flight instruments and a High Definition Home Cinema Projector to display the outside view.  We will be using Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Deluxe Edition and have an add in for the aircraft the cadets train in, the Grob Tutor.

Construction of the base structure will commence this weekend and we are awaiting the delivery of all the equipment within the next week.

The funding of this project has been provided by Aberdeen City Council and Talisman Energy (UK) Limited.
