BTEC Qualifications
The Air Cadet Organization is an approved provider of training for BTEC qualifications and these are offered to all cadets as detailed below.
The following BTEC qualifications are available;
- BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies
The BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies is available to cadets upon obtaining the Staff Cadet Part I classification.
This qualification is valued at TWO Standard Grades (1 to 3) and the cost is met in full by HQ Air Cadets, therefore is free to the cadet.
This BTEC qualification recognises the training undertaken by the cadets for their classification exams and, as the syllabus is aligned with this training, no further studying is required.
- BTEC First Diploma in Public Services
The BTEC First Diploma in Public Services is available to cadets who are 16.
This internationally respected qualification is valued at FOUR Standard Grades (1 to 3) and the cost is met in full by HQ Air Cadets, therefore is free to the cadet.
The syllabus mixes theory and practical elements with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork, communications, problem solving and fitness and it has been designed to improve valuable life skills.
Cadets learn professional CV preparation, interviewing techniques, communication, first aid, adventure training, health and nutrition.
Three quarters of the requirements are covered by standard cadet activites which are supplemented by a couple of project workbooks
